You know what would be cool?
Mood:  incredulous
Now Playing: Elephant Talk - King Crimson
If I could get my right boob to stop leaking.  Ugh.  I've only had leakage from the left one ONCE, and the right one leaks about every other day.  Not too embarrassing when I'm in the privacy of my own home, but a couple weeks ago, when it happened at Alex's house, it was VERY embarrassing.

at the risk of being redundant and repetitive...
Mood:  irritated

I've come to the realization that I don't like moving.  However, I have a feeling it's going to be a hell of a lot easier now while Megan's still inside me than when she's out of me, crying her little head off.

On an unrelated note, I can't see my feet when I'm standing with my feet together.  And my left hip hurts a lot in the morning.  And it's freakin' HOT.  At least it's funny when Megan kicks Big Boi in the head - HA!!! Laughing

too much stuff goin' on...
Mood:  incredulous
Now Playing: Pat Burtis - Legacy
Let's see... what's goin' on in the world of Megan Whatever Patterson...

* She's moving a lot more... it's cool, and I hate to say a little annoying, but I wouldn't trade it for the world.
* I've officially crossed over into 140-land, which is tying my record for the heaviest I've ever been. Yipe.
* Emma says her middle name should be Katherine, "to even things out" (there's two girls with the middle name of Grace, and two with the middle name of Elizabeth, and only Emma has Katherine). Alex said that she's gonna have awesome parents, be an excellent speller, and grow up to marry a bass player.
* My next drs. appt. is next Tuesday. Things seem to be going well... I really should schedule that "marathon Lamaze" class soon. After we move, after we move. Maybe I'll do it in September. The class, that is - not waiting to register until then.

If it's this bad now...
Mood:  caffeinated
Now Playing: Your Way - Murley Shertz
Today, I think "Megan" officially crossed a line: the line between "Cute little flutterings that feel odd and sometimes tickle" to "Holy crap, would you stop that?!" I mean, some of these are make-my-eyeballs-pop-out kicks. And she's only about 8" long now - she's less than 1/2 the size she will be.

and the biological adventure continues!
Mood:  incredulous
Now Playing: Seinfeld (in the other room)
I lifted my shirt today to scratch my belly a bit. I happened to be in the bathroom, and happened to see my bra - there were very small stains at each nipple.

Welcome, colostrum!!!

fa-reaky part deux...
Mood:  caffeinated
I dreamed this Sunday night:

I had the baby, which was actually a foot-long water-snake thing with drawn-on blue eyes (but could still giggle through the drawn-on mouth). And because it was a water snake, I couldn't hold onto it and kept dropping it - and every time it'd make this odd squishy sound and then look up at me with the drawn-on blue eyes and giggle. When I woke up, I was cradling my knee-pillow like it was a baby. But I didn't drop the pillow.

What does this mean? Am I guaranteed to drop the baby, or does it mean that the baby will have Adam's blue eyes? ;-)

Mood:  hungry
I've been feeling movement inside for weeks now... but last night, while watching my belly with my hand over it, I actually *saw* my first movement. Weird. And of course, each time I told Adam to come over and feel, she'd stop moving. Ugh.

Cry baby cry...
Mood:  spacey
Now Playing: I've Got a Feeling - Beatles
The need for food has seemed to subside a little bit - I'm not quite as wildly ravenous, but that doesn't mean that I don't love chow! What I've noticed lately is that I CRY AT EVERYTHING. I'm so freakin' emotional that it's not even funny. I had another OB appt. yesterday (I've gained about 13 lbs. and everything looks great so far), and I asked her what I should do to prepare for childbirth. Aside from taking a couple classes - one for both of us, and a daddy boot camp for Adam - she suggested watching TLC's Baby Story. So, I watched two episodes this morning - and was bawling by the end of each of them. And just trying to get through more than a couple pages in one of my pregnancy books - watch out, 'cause here come the waterworks!!! Of course, I can also turn into Psycho Bitch, too. Not that I like that... at least the crying is somewhat more tolerable for others...

the size evolution
Mood:  cheeky
Now Playing: Bitches Ain't Shit - Ben Folds (v. appropriate for the kid)
My first training bra was a 28AA. I remember my poor father having to take me to get it at JC Penney in Alton. Once I stopped developing, sometime in high school, I was a 34C. I liked my breasts - not too big, not too small (any more than a handful's a waste anyway, right?). Once I was singing more at college (which caused my rib cage to expand), combined with the fact I'd lost some weight, I was a 36B. At some point after I got married, I drifted down to a 34B. Then, of course, I got pregnant, and many things are changing. A month or so ago, I got re-measured at Vicki's, and was told I should be wearing 34C, so I bought one. Having only one bra that *fits* is annoying, but so is paying $40 for one bra, so I went to Target today, and ended up buying a boring beige bra that's a 36C (more comfy than the 34C and still fits fine). Where will it end?

I will also mention that my wonderfully supportive husband has been enjoying my larger breasts... but he won't enjoy reading this post. Life's a B, hon, so suck it up.

toot, toot, tootsie...
Mood:  don't ask
Now Playing: Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey - Macca
I've turned into a lean, mean tootin' machine. Not a pretty sight... thankfully (knock wood) it isn't stinking quite yet. Yet.

Currently in oven: Tombstone Harvest Wheat crust supreme pizza. Percent of pizza I'm likely to consume: 100.

UPDATE: In an exercise of restraint over sudden, pregnancy-induced pizza cravings in the ravenous second trimester, I only ate 5/8 of the pizza, therefore saving 3 pieces for a snack in, oh, two hours or so.
